Dunes for Days: One Last Trip to the Desert
I spent five months in Israel, and, if you've been following my blog, you'll know I spent some of that time in the desert. I think everyone should spend time in the desert at some point in their lives; it's a great escape, one you won't forget anytime soon.
This trip we went down to the southernmost point of Israel, to the city of Eilat and it's surrounding deserts and mountains. We played in sand dunes, hiked ancient mountains, and spent time by the sea.
I'm back in the States now, but trips like these are one of the things I'll miss most about Israel.
Just hanging out with some wild gazelles
Jesse decided to roll down the dune.
Falling up the dunes
Emptying out our shoes
Looking out over the mountains of Jordan
Watching the sun set over Egypt
We went on a steep hike, but the view from the top was worth it.
There were a lot of people flying kites at the top of this mountain.
Can you tell I was relieved to finally make it to the top?
We hiked up a mountain and hiked down to the beach. Pretty great, if you ask me.
